DANCER IN ME INTERNATIONAL COMES TO JAMAICA
Groundbreaking launch of SKY KIDS Creative Arts International for Jamaican Children
[KINGSTON, JAMAICA, JANUARY 15, 2020] — Dancer In Me International will be held here in Kingston Jamaica, March 22-30th, 2020, under the theme: Rejuvenate 2 Accelerate. This is a full week of performing arts training, spiritual formation, community engagement, prophetic preaching, and cultural inspiration. This signature event is known to draw over 700 people from the U.S. and abroad annually in Southern California.
To mark the 10th Anniversary of the Dancer In Me experience, Reverend Stephanie and Mr. Steve Adams a husband and wife team will lead a US delegation to Jamaica. This event is in collaboration with the 16th District AME Church (Bishop Anne H. Byfield), The Music & Christian Arts Ministry of the AMEC, The Edna Manley College of the Visual & Performing Arts, Swallowfield Chapel Church, The Jamaica Tourist Board, along with a host of local churches, worship arts ministries, dance companies, and community agencies throughout the Caribbean.
The Dancer In Me 2020 experience will unfold in two phases. Phase one called Rejuvenate – March 22-25th at the Terra Nova Hotel with an 8pm Call to Prayer on the evening of March 22nd, then at 9am -1pm daily. This is a prophetic faith formation and creative encounter with world renown visionary, preacher, & women’s empowerment leader Reverend Cecelia Williams Bryant for anyone 55 years and older. Phase two called Accelerate – March 25th – 30th is a sacred arts, music and outreach experience for persons 6 years and older. During this phase, classes will be held daily at the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts and Chapel of Christ AME Church from 3:30pm – 9:00pm featuring a dynamic blend of local and international instructors.
Swallowfield Chapel Church will be the host venue for two power-packed evening Worship Arts Concerts at 6:30pm on Wednesday, March 25th and Saturday, March 28th.
This event will also mark the launch of SKY KIDS Creative Arts International for Jamaican children ages 6-12 years, which will be in residence at select Basic Schools across the island. In honor of the launch, a new playground will be installed at Chapel of Christ AME Church courtesy of the Religious Neighbors Ministry (COR Church-Irvine, California), the 5th District Women’s Missionary Society, Kids Around the World, and Long Beach Unity Inc.
